Why You Should Still Wear Sunscreen In The Winter

Although most people tend to only think about wearing sunscreen during the Summer, you should also wear it during Winter.

The truth is that even with the temperature decrease, the sun’s harmful rays continue to be as damaging and as strong as they are during the Summer. And as you know, this can have a huge impact on your skin, especially for aging skin. Besides contributing to wrinkles, you can also be more prone to skin cancer. This is why it is so important to use some Winter skin care protection.

Another factor that you may not know is that the reflection of radiation from snow actually requires a stronger sunscreen. So, if you like to go snowboarding or skiing, make sure that you use a good sunscreen to protect your skin.

So, here are some tips to protect your skin during winter:

#1: Don’t Forget About The Sweat:

While you may think that applying a winter sunscreen once in the morning is enough, it’s really not. The truth is that because you tend to naturally sweat, you’ll need to reapply the natural sunscreen throughout the day.

#2: The Effects Of The Sun Even During The Winter:

While you need vitamin D and one of the most powerful sources is the sun, too much sun can damage your skin. Even though you may think you just have some old spots, the truth is that these can be age spots, freckles, loose skin, rough and leathery skin, fine wrinkles, among others. The sun tends to attack your skin elasticity. So, during the Winter, you need to watch out for any red or rough skin, broken blood vessels, or even an increase in moles.

#3: Don’t Forget About Your Lips:

Make sure that you don’t forget to protect your lips using a good soothing lip balm with sunscreen.

#4: Use A Zinc Oxide Sunscreen:

When you want to protect your skin from the sun effects, you don’t want to be attacking it by using non-natural sunscreens. After all, with all those chemicals, you may even get your skin to be worse.

Heres how to make your own sunscreen at home:

Ingredients:

¼ cup coconut oil

½ cup almond or olive oil

2 Tablespoons La Lune Zinc Oxide

¼ cup beeswax

2 tablespoons Shea Butter

Up to 1 teaspoon Carrot Seed Oil

Up to 1 teaspoon Red Raspberry Seed Oil

Instructions:

The first step is to combine all the ingredients except the zinc oxide on a large glass jar. Then, fill a medium saucepan with water and turn on the medium heat.

Just put a lid on the jar loosely and put it in the pan.

As soon as the water starts to heat, you’ll notice that the ingredients will start to melt. Just stir occasionally.

As soon as they are all melted, add the zinc oxide and stir it well. Then, just pour it into what you will be using to store it.
